Gwyneth Paltrow ski trial musical to have U.S. debut in Park City

A musical based on the 2023 ski crash trial involving actor Gwyneth Paltrow is coming to the resort town where it all unfolded.

The latest: “Gwyneth Goes Skiiing,” which premiered in London last year, will make its U.S. debut at Park City’s Egyptian Theatre on May 16 for a 9-show run.

Catch up quick: The viral legal battle centered around a 2016 ski collision between the Goop founder and retired optometrist Terry Sanderson at Deer Valley Resort in Park City.

  • Sanderson sued Paltrow in 2019, alleging she crashed into him and left him with serious injuries.
  • He originally sought $3.1 million in damages — an amount later reduced to $300,000.
  • Paltrow ultimately prevailed after she countersued for a symbolic $1 and attorney’s fees.

The intrigue: The performance will feature “a whole lot of fiction and a sprinkling of verbatim lines from court transcripts,” according to a description.

  • The audience will act as the jury and feature guest vocals by Paltrow’s former “Glee” costar Darren Criss.

Admission: Tickets start at $39.
