Free community concert showcases traditional mariachi and folklore dance from Mexico

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he Mexican Cultural Center in partnership with Alliance Sports Association, Museo de las Americas, and the Colorado Symphony Association are thrilled to present the “México en el Corazón”, a beautiful and exciting, free community concert showcasing the traditional dance and music from Mexico. The concert is an initiative of North American Institute for Mexican Advancement (NAIMA) and would not be made possible without all the partners. For the past 34 years the Guadalajara Folkloric Ballet has served as the ambassador of Mexico in spreading its traditions all over the world. This year along with Mariachi Juvenil Colotlán they will put on an event that will help the community connect and learn about the Mexican traditions. The event will be on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at 7:00 p.m., at Boettcher Concert Hall.

Join us for an interactive performance that will bring the heart and soul of Mexico directly to you in Colorado! This show presents authentic Mexican culture, song, dance and folklore to the stage this August in Boettcher Concert Hall performed by México en el Corazón – which features a thirteen piece band and over a dozen dancers with singers as well!

The dissemination of these artistic expressions allows for a greater approach to Mexico’s traditions and generates greater identification among Mexican migrants, while reinforcing community recognition of the great contribution and presence Mexican art and culture in the United States. “It is important to bring these types of performances to Colorado to showcase the uniqueness of the Mexican Culture, but also expose our Colorado community about its richness and diversity” said Ana Valles, Interim Executive Director of the Mexican Cultural Center

Es una iniciativa que viene desde México para la comunidad mexicana, méxico-americana y al público estadounidense en general, un espectáculo de gran calidad el cual presenta lo más representativo de la música, bailables y canciones de nuestro folclor.

This event is a free community concert. This presentation does not include a performance with or by members of the Colorado Symphony. Tickets for this performance are available two weeks prior to the event at the Colorado Symphony Box Office and online through print-at-home method. Tickets are limited to 8 per household. All seating is general admission and a ticket does not guarantee a seat.
