Innovative non-profit organization, National Hispanic Entrepreneurs’ Organization (NHEO Institute), Inc., set to kick off its 3rd year of the Building a Safer Future Campaign at the ConExpo2020 Show
In line with the organization’s goal of providing world-class resources to contractors and small business owners, and improving their chances of success, NHEO Institute announced that it will be kicking off its 3rd year of the Building a Safer Future Campaign in Las Vegas. The primary aim of the campaign, which was launched in 2018, is to reduce and ultimately eliminate construction-related hazards.
NHEO Institute will expand its campaign efforts internationally given the need for commitment to safety for all construction sites. Interested construction companies and show attendees will have a chance to pledge and enroll at the campaign during the show at the booth GL32108 in the Grand Lobby area. CONEXPO runs Tuesday, March 10, through Saturday, March 14 and is expected to draw tens of thousands of visitors.
“We are very excited to kick off the campaign at ConExpo. This is a great opportunity to share our work and initiatives,” Victoria Carpena, NHEO Institute Community Manager said. “We have a multilingual team and community members in several countries, and we are happy to help improve safety and health standards around the world,” Victoria continued.
The construction industry remains one of the most dangerous fields to work in. Studies reveal that 20 percent of every 5,000 private-industry worker fatalities are in construction, with one in five worker deaths annually being in construction. Consequently, it has become imperative for different stakeholders in the industry to put measures in place to reduce these disturbing figures. This inspired NHEO Institute to launch the campaign, to include monthly educational webinars led by industry experts and partners sharing safety and health best practices in multiple languages.
In addition, NHEO Institute Board Member, JP Giometti, will be discussing the topic “Why a Diverse and Inclusive Workforce Matters for Your Business” on Thursday, March 12, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM. The talk will hold at Westgate – Ballroom C, where he will be sharing some of the projects and research done with companies like Bechtel and Exxon.
