The 2024 Paris Olympics get underway Friday with the opening ceremony, and unlike the last set of Summer Games, they are happening right on schedule. The United States is geared up and ready to compete in the Olympics as they hope to once again come out of the event atop the Olympics medal count.
LeBron James and Coco Gauff have been chosen as the American flag bearers for the opening ceremony, and while the action at these games is already underway with soccer and rugby matches being played, each are among the athletes who will have the most eyes on them across these games. Noah Lyles and Sha’Carri Richardson are the most notable names to follow on the track, while Caeleb Dressel and Katie Ledecky are once again seeking to add multiple gold medals to their totals in the pool.
The Olympics will run until Aug. 11, and CBS Sports on this page will be tracking the entire event from the perspective of the United States. In this space, you will find everything you need to know about Team USA’s performances from gold medal victories and record-breaking efforts to fun moments and (unfortunately some) crushing defeats.
