Melissa Butler is Alaska Regional Hospital’s new COO, in charge of daily operations while collaborating with all departments to strengthen performance, optimize resources, and advance a culture of excellence and accountability. She brings more than twenty years of healthcare experience, including nine years with parent company HCA Healthcare. She held key leadership roles at the Gulf Coast Division and at Corpus Christi Medical Center in Texas, where Alaska Regional Hospital CEO Mark Roberts was posted before coming to Alaska in 2025. Butler earned a bachelor’s degree in business management from National American University, an online school in Rapid City, South Dakota, and a master’s degree in management and leadership from Western Governors University, an online school in Salt Lake City, Utah. She is an active member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
