While the Tigers still are finalizing their television details for the regular season, they want fans to know that several games will be available to watch for free during spring training.
The Tigers’ spring opener against the New York Yankees on Saturday was being streamed at tigers.com and MLB.com, through the Yankees’ YES Network telecast. To watch Saturday’s game, and other Tigers’ spring-training games, fans need to sign up for a free account at MLB.com. The spring training TV telecasts are available for free for Tigers fans living in Michigan and surrounding viewing territory.
The Tigers haven’t yet announced their complete TV schedule for spring training games, but they are expected to use their crew for at least a handful of games this month and next. Tigers spring training games won’t be available on traditional cable, as the channel that will be used for regular-season games has not gone live.
The Tigers said a complete TV schedule for spring training games will be announced next week.
The Tigers announced earlier this month that they are leaving FanDuel Sports Network, which appears poised to go out of business at the end of the NBA and NHL seasons, and moving to MLB Media’s umbrella. To access 2026 regular-season games, Tigers fans will need to get a streaming subscription through MLB.TV (price TBA), or an upgraded-tier subscription through their cable provider. An app for subscribers also is in the works. The app and cable channel haven’t yet been named and aren’t expected to be live until just before Opening Day.
The Tigers announced Saturday that 20 spring training games will be on the radio, starting with Saturday’s game against the Yankees, on either 97.1-FM or 1270-AM.
The rest of the spring-training radio games will air Sunday (97.1), Monday (1270), Wednesday (1270), Friday (1270), March 1 (97.1), March 2 (1270), March 6 (1270), March 7 (97.1), March 8 (97.1), March 9 (1270), March 12 (1270), March 13 (1270), March 14 (97.1), March 15 (1270), March 16 (1270), March 17 (1270), March 18 (1270), March 20 (1270) and March 21 (97.1).
