As we prepare for the start of the 2026 Big 12 Swimming and Diving Championships, there are several top 10 scratches and psych sheet updates for both the women’s and the men’s sides of these championships.
Women’s Psych Sheet Updates
Arizona State’s midseason addition, Albane Cachot, topped the 100 free for the Sun Devils, boasting the only sub-48 time of the event field in 47.82. She also enters as the top seed in the 200 free (1:44.34) and is tied for 2nd in the 50 free with Arizona’s Julia Wozniak in 22.05. Arizona senior Riley Botton (21.97) leads that event field.
Arizona sophomore Kayman Neal will not swim the 100 free (10th fastest Big 12 time) or the 100 fly (#8) and will focus on the 100 back (#3), 200 Back (top seed), and 200 free (#4).
Sun Devil sophomore Jordan Greber is notably absent from the 100 back, as she is the 6th fastest performer this season in the event this season in the Big 12, and will instead race the 100 free, 200 free, and 200 IM, she currently holds the top time in the conference in the 200 IM in 1:56.85.
Her teammate Grace Lindberg, a junior, will set her sights on the 100, 200, and 500 freestyle races, signaling a desire to pursue NCAA qualification opportunities rather than points in the 400 IM, where her time from the January dual meet with Grand Canyon sits her 2nd in the conference (4:14.26).
Men’s Psych Sheet Updates
Ilya Kharun will not race the 100 free for the Sun Devils despite holding the 2nd fastest time in the Big 12 this season (41.23). This does not come as much of a shock, as he holds the top entry seed in the 50 free, 100 fly, and 200 fly for these championships.
Both Michael Hochwalt (#5) and Andrew Taylor (#6) will be out of the 500 free for the Sun Devils. Taylor stepped away from the sport in January and will also be absent from the 1650 free, where he was the #2 time this season. Hochwalt is also out of the 200 fly as the #8 time, with his three events being the 200 IM (#10), 400 IM (top seed), and the 200 back (#16). 200 fly #5 seed Jake Mason is also out of the 200 fly for Arizona State here.
ASU’s Jordan Tiffany is out of the 100 back here as the #3 time this season, but is still notably entered in four events (200 IM, 100 breast, 200 breast, 100 fly). he has only raced the 100 breast twice this season, once in October at the All Arizona D1 Invitational (52.79), and again in a November dual with USC (52.18, #3 seed here), the 200 breast has been a slightly more frequently raced event, with Tiffany competing in this race four times this season, he enters as the #2 seed in the 200 breast in 1:52.73.
Adam Chaney will not race the 100 fly for the Sun Devils at this meet as the #6 swimmer this season, but will instead stick to the 100 back, 200 back, and 50 free.
Swimming begins tonight with the 200 medley relay and 800 free relay.
