Eva Reopens
I’m thrilled to report that Eva restaurant in downtown SLC has reopened, six months after closing and rebuilding due to the massive fire that destroyed a number of Main Street businesses.
Eva is the second business – after White Horse Kitchen & Spirits – to reopen following the fire. Named for his grandmother, owner/chef Charlie Perry Eva opened 17 years ago serving tapas-style cuisine in a comfy and warm setting – a true independent gem of a restaurant. And I can’t wait to enjoy dishes like the amazing grilled asparagus and bodacious Brussels sprouts at Evan again.

Bucklin Wine Dinner at Urban Hill
One of my very favorite winemakers is Sonoma-based Will Bucklin, who makes wines from grapevines that date back to the founding of his Bucklin Old Hill Ranch in 1851.
On Wednesday, March 4th, 2026 beginning at 6:00 PM winemaker Will Bucklin will team up with Executive Chef Nick Zocco and his kitchen crew to host a special 5-course Wine Dinner featuring Bucklin Old Ranch wines. The menu and wine pairings look like this:
First Course: Chorizo Croquetta – piquillo pepper aioli, preserved lemon gel, saffron oil + Rosé of Old Hill 2024
Second Course: Grilled Lobster Tail – apple & sunchoke, yuzu beurre blanc + Compagni-Portis 2024

Bucklin Upper 5th Vineyard
Third Course: Roast Duck – five-spice blackberry honey lacquer, celeriac & fennel gratin, bitter greens, sweet potato + Upper 5th Vineyard “Anne’s Field Blend” 2020
Fourth Course: Niman Ranch Herb-Crusted Rack of Lamb – wild mushroom farro, pomegranate glazed sweet potato, natural jus + Bedrock Cabernet Sauvignon 2021
To finish: Cardamom & Citrus Crème Brûlée + House Cocktail
