San Antonio actress Nava Mau is coming to your television screens — again.
Mau, who is most known for her role as Teri in Netflix’s Golden Globe-winning limited series “Baby Reindeer,” locked in a guest-starring role for the NBC drama “Brilliant Minds.” Her episode will air Monday, March 2, in season 2 episode 215, “The Missing Person.”
Mau plays a party girl who is found collapsed after a night of clubbing. The stakes are heightened when the team realizes what she has been avoiding. The show was inspired by author and physician Oliver Sacks and follows a neurologist and his interns as they explore the mind, while dealing with their own personal and mental health issues.
Mau was born in Mexico City but attended Health Careers High School while living in San Antonio. She has established herself as a filmmaker, actress and cultural worker — writing, producing and directing her own creations while also being featured in others’ work. Mau was a series regular in the HBO Max series “Generation” and played Detective Marquez in the fifth and final season of the thriller Netflix series “You.”
Mau received an Emmy nomination and a British Academy of Film and Television Arts nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her role in “Baby Reindeer.” Her Emmy nomination was historic, as she was the first transgender woman to be nominated in that category. That role also won her the Independent Spirit Award for Best Supporting Performance in a New Series.
Malia Pyles from “Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin” also secured a guest role for season 2. Pyles plays a mechanical engineering sorority student in episode 213 “The Rabbit Hole.” She is teased as being not the typical sorority sister and instead is most loyal to her older sister.
