Greenwood Industries is rapidly expanding it reach across the Northeast by announcing two recent acquisitions.
The 2023 RC Commercial Roofing Contractor of the Year announced that it entered into a strategic partnership with Silktown Roofing, Inc., headquartered in Manchester, Conn. Silktown was founded in 1984, and is one of the Northeast’s most established and respected commercial roofing contractors.
Over four decades in operation, Silktown has built a reputation for safety, quality workmanship, and lasting client relationships across commercial, industrial, and institutional markets. Silktown delivers a comprehensive suite of capabilities spanning roof installation, replacement, custom sheet metal fabrication, and ongoing maintenance and repair on all major roofing systems.
The company serves a deep, longstanding base of general contractors, property managers, and building owners – many of whom have partnered with Silktown for years, a news release stated. BaseRock Partners, an investment bank built to serve the engineering and construction industry, served as the exclusive financial advisor for Silktown.
“The partnership with Greenwood positions Silktown to accelerate its growth objectives while preserving the operational leadership, culture, and customer-first approach that have defined the business since its founding,” a release from BaseRock stated.
“Together, Silktown and Greenwood will offer a combined platform with expanded geographic coverage, a deeper range of commercial roofing and building envelope services, and the resources to pursue larger and more complex projects.”
Growth in Waterproofing, Too
TWC Phoenix, Greenwood’s waterproofing subsidiary, also announced the acquisition of Brunca Waterproofing, a Rhode Island–based commercial waterproofing contractor with a legacy dating back to 1976.
For nearly five decades, Brunca has earned a strong regional reputation for quality workmanship, technical expertise, and long-standing client relationships. Its capabilities in
below-grade waterproofing, traffic coatings, and structural protection enhance TWC Phoenix’s ability to deliver comprehensive building envelope solutions throughout Southern New England, including Connecticut and New York.
“This partnership brings together two organizations that share the same values—craftsmanship, accountability, and long-term performance,” said David Klein, CEO of TWC Phoenix. “Brunca’s long track record of protecting critical infrastructure makes them a natural fit for our platform.”
Brunca will continue operating under its existing name, with its leadership team remaining in place to ensure continuity for employees and customers.
“We built Brunca on relationships and quality work,” said Kenneth Parisi, President of Brunca Waterproofing. “Joining TWC Phoenix gives our team access to expanded resources and long-term growth opportunities while preserving the culture and reputation we’ve worked hard to establish.”
The acquisition enhances TWC Phoenix’s regional presence and reinforces its commitment to investing in experienced contractors with strong market reputations and highly-skilled field teams.
