Latino grocer Centro Market in Carson City wraps up construction on a new location. When will it open?
Construction just wrapped up on a new location for a Latino grocery store in Carson City.
General contracting firm SB Builders LLC announced that it has completed work on the new Centro Market at 3312 U.S. Highway 50 East. The facility will replace the existing Centro Market at 2794 U.S. Highway 50 East.
Centro Market is a specialty grocer that carries a wide range of Mexican and Latin American products. Its offerings include meat, produce, spices, baked goods and beverages. It also carries kitchen staples for Hispanic cuisine such as masa flour, corn husks and various canned and jarred ingredients.
In addition to food, Centro Market sells an assortment of decorative items.
The new $5 million location, which broke ground in November 2024, features a design based on Mission Revival architecture and spans 23,160 square feet.
“Owners Herbert Muro and Armando Valencia focused on providing a modernized and accessible space for shoppers, with design choices that enhance navigation, comfort and convenience throughout the store,” SB Builders said in a statement.
The existing Centro Market will close once the new location opens, which is expected sometime in mid-April.
