Former Fresno State coach Jeff Tedford joining College Football Playoff selection committee

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — Former Fresno State football coach Jeff Tedford is joining the College Football Playoff selection committee starting this Spring.

Tedford will help decide which teams reach the 12-team playoff during his three-year term.

He was recently added to Fresno State’s ring of honor. In his two head coaching stints in five years, he racked up 45 wins, four bowl wins, two Mountain West titles and two finishes in the AP Top 25.

Tedford is also Cal’s all-time winningest coach.

He now joins a 13-person committee that is responsible for ranking the top 25 teams in the playoff and assigning the top 12 teams to the playoff bracket.
