New Census Bureau population estimates are out and they show that while the Greater Fort Worth area grew at a faster pace than the rest of the nation from mid-2024 to mid-2025, the increase was slower than in previous years.
The counties on the west side of the Metroplex continued to grow thanks to both births and migration. They helped the Dallas-Fort Worth metro as a whole rank second in the nation for people added from July 1, 2024 to July 1, 2025, according to the new figures released March 25.
The population in Tarrant County, which centers on Fort Worth, increased an estimated 0.8% from 2.23 million in 2024 to 2.25 million in 2025. That was an increase of more than 18,000 people, or about 50 per day. However, the growth was slower than the 1.6% increase seen from 2023 to 2024.
