MEXICO — Ty Brandt tied for the individual championship Friday, leading the Fatima Comets to a team title in the Missouri Military Academy Invitational at Arthur Hills Golf Course.
Brandt and North Point’s Nick Compton each shot an even-par 71 to lead the field of 68 golfers.
Fatima won the team championship with a score of 312, five strokes better than Monroe City. North Point was third with a 323.
Brandt carded an impressive six birdies — one on a par-5, four on par-4s and one on a par-3 — in his 18-hole round. He also had six pars and six bogeys.
Next for the Comets was Evan Otto, who tied for sixth with a 78. He posted two birdies, 10 pars, four bogeys, one double-bogey and one triple-bogey.
Xavier Stuecken tied for 14th place with an 81 and Nick Howe tied for 16th with an 82 to round out Fatima’s team score. Trevor Crowe shot an 83 to tie for 21st place.
South Callaway finished fifth in the team standings with a 338, one stroke behind Glasgow.
Deacon Daugherty led the Bulldogs, tying for eighth place with a 79. He had two birdies, seven pars, eight bogeys and one double-bogey.
Jace Caruthers was next for South Callaway with an 83, followed by Brock Caruthers with an 86 to tie for 27th place. Stephen Thomure rounded out the team score with a 90, tying for 41st place, and Parker Vandeloecht shot a 97 to tie for 54th place.
The Versailles Tigers were 11th out of 14 teams with a 358.
Reace Boatright led Versailles with an 85 to place 26th. Samuel Haas followed with an 86, Cody Sinclair carded a 90, Daulton Rasa posted a 97 and Emmett Kincaid tied for 58th
