It’s “numbered event” time again in the UFC, with UFC 328 emanating from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. It’s a fairly stacked fight card, with two titles on the line in the night’s last two fights. For my MMA Main Card Pick of the Week: UFC 328, I’ve got your winner for Saturday’s championship main event. Let’s go!

MMA Main Card Pick of the Week: UFC 328
UFC 328: Chimaev vs Strickland
Main Card Start Time: 9:00 PM EST
Saturday’s main event sees UFC Middleweight Champion Khamzat Chimaev make his first title defense, facing former champion Sean Strickland. As is always the case when Strickland is involved, a bunch of nonsense is being spoken in the lead-up to the fight, but we’ll stick to the action in the cage.
And, if the bettors are correct, the action will be one-sided in the current champ’s favor. This makes sense to me – no one has yet solved the Chimaev puzzle of relentless, suffocating wrestling and grappling. Strickland will be better on the feet, as most opponents are against Chimaev, but with no legit finishing power (his last fight being the exception, not the rule), the champ will be able to survive to take Strickland down as many times as needed to win the fight.
