WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute (CHLI) announced that it will honor Congresswoman Monica De La Cruz (TX-15) with its Bipartisan Leadership in Public Service Award at the organization’s 22nd Annual Gala and Leadership Awards Ceremony on May 13 in Washington, D.C.

Founded in 2003, Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute is a leading nonpartisan organization dedicated to advancing public policy within the U.S. Hispanic community, with an emphasis on economic opportunity, social responsibility, and global competitiveness. Past honorees include Marco Rubio, Luis Abinader, Santiago Peña, Tim Scott, Lindsey Graham, Catherine Cortez Masto, and U.S. Representatives Maria Elvira Salazar, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Lou Correa, and Juan Vargas.

“I am grateful for this recognition, but it ultimately belongs to the people of South Texas, and to God, who makes all things possible,” said Congresswoman De La Cruz. “It also belongs to my family, whose love brought me here. It belongs to the waitresses, the police officers, the working moms and dads, and the abuelitos who put their trust in me. For me, public service isn’t about political parties. It’s about keeping the American Dream alive for our children, and serving them and our community is the greatest privilege of my life.”

CHLI will present the award alongside other 2026 honorees under this year’s theme, “Mosaic of Voices: Celebrating 250 Years of Vision, Culture, and Contributions.” The gala will bring together lawmakers, diplomats, and Fortune 500 leaders in advance of the nation’s 250th anniversary. CHLI will also honor Gil Cisneros (D-CA) with the Leadership in Public Service Award, reflecting the organization’s ongoing commitment to bipartisan collaboration. Additionally, Daniel Noboa Azín will receive the Founders International Leadership Award.
