There’s a new couple in the Dallas sports world.

Mavericks phenom Cooper Flagg is officially in a relationship with Duke women’s basketball player Arianna Roberson. She comes from a big-time basketball family, has some Texas ties and more.

Here are five things to know about Roberson.

1. The basics

Name: Arianna Jalisa Roberson

Birthdate: January 2, 2006

Hometown: San Antonio, Texas

2. Hard launch with the Mavs’ young superstar

The social media posts confirmed the rumors Roberson and Flagg were an item that had been swirling since she attended his Rookie of the Year news conference last month alongside his family and they attended a Duke basketball game together during the All-Star break.

Watch Roberson’s TikTok with Flagg below.

3. Some seriously athletic genes

If you’ve been following the NBA long enough, her last name may sound familiar.

Roberson is the younger sister of former NBA guard Andre Roberson, who spent seven seasons in the NBA from 2013-21, most of which came with the Thunder.

It doesn’t stop there. Both Roberson’s parents were All-Americans at New Mexico State in their respective sports: John in basketball and Lisa in volleyball.

They then had seven children. Ashlee Roberson played basketball at Texas Tech, Amber Roberson played volleyball at Texas, Arielle Roberson played basketball at West Virginia and Colorado, Andre Roberson played in the NBA, Anthony Roberson spent time in the G League after a college career at Texas State and Central Oklahoma, Aaliyah Roberson just wrapped up a four-year basketball career at TCU and now Arianna, the youngest just finished her redshirt freshman at Duke.

4. Familiar with Texas

It shouldn’t be much of an adjustment for Roberson if she’s dating someone who resides in Texas.

Roberson is from San Antonio and was a star at Clark High School. She led her team to the 2023 UIL 6A state championship in her junior year, Clark’s first-ever state title, and averaged 18 points, 13 rebounds and three blocks in her senior season. Roberson was a highly-touted prospect out of high school, ranking as the No. 17 prospect in the Class of 2024 on ESPN and earning McDonald’s All-American honors.

5. Duke overlap

Roberson and Flagg presumably knew each other from Flagg’s one year with the Blue Devils.

They arrived at Duke for the 2024-25 seasons and, while Flagg set the college hoops world ablaze, Roberson missed her freshman season with a knee injury suffered at the 2024 FIBA 3×3 U18 World Cup the summer before the season began.

She returned for the 2025-26 season, helping Duke to ACC regular season and tournament championships and a trip to the Elite Eight. Roberson earned ACC All-Freshman Team honors as well.
