SALT LAKE CITY — One of Salt Lake City’s more recognizable residents has put his home up for sale.

Tan France, a fashion designer who became a television personality after Netflix’s “Queer Eye,” recently listed his 3.36-acre home in Salt Lake City’s posh North Cove community for sale.

Sotheby’s lists the selling price for the five-bedroom, 6,903-square-foot home at $7.5 million. It also comes with a $1,945 quarterly homeowner’s association fee and nearly $25,000 annually in property taxes, according to the international realty firm.

The gated community, located near the mouth of City Creek Canyon, comes with 24/7 security, while the home features “breathtaking views” of the Wasatch Mountains, Sotheby’s wrote. The home also has a fully enclosed glass atrium, a heated driveway and a “thoughtfully curated” interior that includes a large laundry room, home theater and a 1,000-square-foot custom closet, the firm added.

“A grand entry makes a striking first impression with hand-painted mural wallpaper and a sweeping staircase that sets an elegant tone throughout,” it wrote.

It wasn’t immediately clear why France put the home, which was completed in 2023, on the market. Architectural Digest described it as his “dream house” that he helped design when it featured the home in 2024.

“I chose to move here because I thought it was the most beautiful place I’ve ever seen in my life,” France told the outlet, adding that he and his husband “labored so hard over every detail” of the Tudor-style home.

France moved to Salt Lake City well before the home was built. A native of England who became a naturalized U.S. citizen, he lived “in Salt Lake City on and off for more than a decade,” the Associated Press noted in 2019. He also met his husband, Rob, in Utah’s capital city.

In addition to “Queer Eye,” he has appeared on several different television programs over the years, usually as himself. France has also amassed a major online following, including more than 3.5 million followers on Instagram.

“If I lived in New York or L.A., I’m sure my life would have changed massively. That’s why I choose to live in Salt Lake,” he said in 2019. “I come home and escape from the extra life I have no desire to live.”
