The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
Position Summary
The Department of Anesthesiology is looking for a Data Analyst to support multiple Principal Investigators in their research, by collecting, analyzing, validating, and interpreting complex data to support operational, financial, clinical, and strategic decision‑making. The position partners with departmental leadership, operations, finance, and other stakeholders to translate data into actionable insights, standard reports, and dashboards that drive performance improvement, compliance, and organizational effectiveness.
Responsibilities
- Partner with departmental leaders and stakeholders to understand business questions and translate them into analytic solutions.
- Provide analytical support for operational planning, financial analyses, workforce planning, and performance monitoring.
- Support data requests related to audits, regulatory reporting, accreditation, and internal reviews as applicable.
- Analyze large complex datasets to derive quantitative insights and correlate with clinical or experimental data.
- Develop scalable pipelines to process large clinical datasets and ensure data consistency.
- Develop necessary data systems.
- Assist with data analysis and report preparation for publications, grant submissions, and presentations.
- Ensure data integrity and confidentiality throughout the research lifecycle.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, FDA, and institutional research ethics requirements.
- Use statistical software such as SAS, R, SPSS, STATE, and M Plus.
- Identify opportunities to streamline data collection, reporting, and analysis through automation and improved workflows.
- Other responsibilities as requested.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education and experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in biostatistics, epidemiology, public health or similar discipline is preferred
