The 2026 Latino Summit, organized by the Delaware Hispanic Commission, brought together community leaders, businesses, educators, nonprofits and government organizations on May 19 at the Chase Center on the Riverfront in Wilmington.
The full-day event, held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., focused on empowering and connecting Delaware’s Latino community through workshop sessions, networking opportunities and access to resources. Discussions throughout the summit centered on civic engagement, economic empowerment, education and immigration pathways.
Throughout the venue, attendees moved between workshops and exhibitor tables while business owners, nonprofit leaders, students and professionals connected with community members and shared information about available programs and services. The summit also provided breakfast, lunch and networking opportunities designed to encourage collaboration and community engagement.
Educational institutions including Goldey-Beacom College, Delaware Technical Community College and Wilmington University participated in the event, offering information about academic programs, workforce training and career development opportunities for students and working professionals.
Government and utility organizations were also present, including the Delaware Division of Small Business, the Delaware Department of Labor and Delmarva Power. Representatives shared resources related to workforce development, business support services, employment opportunities and community programs available across the state.
The summit also highlighted the growing presence of Latino-owned businesses in Delaware. Including Savora Marketing, Cox Consulting, Castillos Paiting & Remodeling, and many others. Businesses representing industries such as marketing, beauty, logistics, retail and nonprofit services showcased their work and connected with attendees throughout the day. The diversity of businesses present reflected the continued growth and economic impact of Delaware’s Latino community.
Beyond networking opportunities, the event demonstrated how Latino entrepreneurs, organizations and institutions continue creating spaces focused on collaboration, professional growth and community support. Attendees had the opportunity to learn about educational resources, small business assistance programs and professional services while building new connections within the community.
This year’s summit followed the slogan “Juntos Somos Más Fuertes” — “Together We Are Stronger” — a message reflected throughout the event as organizations and community
members came together to highlight opportunities, celebrate cultural representation and strengthen connections across Delaware.
As Delaware’s Latino population continues to grow, events such as the Latino Summit continue serving as an important space for visibility, education, networking and community empowerment across multiple sectors including business, education and public service.
