GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) – A Houston man is now behind bars after several Greenville homes were burglarized in January, according to warrants.

Greenville police arrested Leonardo Hernandez-Torres yesterday.

Warrants say on Jan. 16, he broke into two unoccupied homes and tried to break into an occupied home in Greenville with the intent to commit felonies.

The burglaries were at two homes on Leanne Drive and Walnut Drive, while the burglary attempt was at a home on Southlea Drive.

According to court documents, Hernandez-Torres possessed large bolt cutters and conspired with Cristian Mideros-Riascos to cut power to all three homes using the outdoor meter box.

Hernandez-Torres was charged with two counts of second-degree burglary, attempt first-degree burglary, three counts of possession of burglary tools, and three counts of felony conspiracy.

The 29-year-old is being held without bond.
