WASHINGTON – The International Fresh Produce Association’s (IFPA) The Floral Conference convened floral industry leaders from across the global supply chain in Miami this week, bringing together breeders, growers, importers, suppliers, and retail floral buyers for two days of networking, education, and business development. This year’s focus was on helping businesses navigate evolving consumer expectations, market pressures, and growth opportunities to focused on helping businesses navigate evolving consumer expectations, market pressures, and new opportunities shaping the future of floral.

A centerpiece of this year’s event was the Breeder Showcase, which gave attendees direct access to the latest floral varieties and innovations from top breeders around the world. The showcase fostered meaningful conversations between breeders, growers, and retail buyers, while highlighting emerging trends and new product development, shaping the future of floral merchandising and consumer engagement.

The conference also featured Buyer Roundtables, offering retailers and suppliers the opportunity to engage in candid discussions around merchandising strategies, consumer behavior, category growth, operational challenges, and opportunities for deeper collaboration across the supply chain.

Educational programming addressed several of the most pressing issues facing the floral industry today. Sessions included:

  • State of Floral delivered by Miriam Wolk, IFPA’s Chief Membership Officer
  • Market Access, Trade, and Risk: What Floral Businesses Must Prepare For
  • How Point-of-Sale Data and Consumer Behavior Can Drive Floral’s Next Wave of Growth
  • And a discussion examining the floral consumer lens and changing shopper expectations.

Together, the sessions provided attendees with actionable insights into trade dynamics, consumer purchasing trends, data-driven decision-making, and strategies to strengthen floral category performance at retail.

“The Floral Conference continues to demonstrate the value of bringing the entire floral supply chain together in one place,” said IFPA’s Chief Membership Officer, Miriam Wolk. “From breeders showcasing innovation to floral shippers and importers helping bring exciting new products to market, and decision-makers from retailers like H-E-B, Albertsons and SpartanNash exploring new sourcing opportunities, every part of the supply chain plays a critical role. The collaboration and conversations happening in Miami are helping shape the future of the global floral industry and creating stronger connections.”

Attendees participated in expanded networking opportunities throughout the event, fostering new business relationships and collaboration among floral professionals representing every segment of the supply chain. The conference reinforced IFPA’s commitment to supporting the floral industry through education, advocacy, and connection-building opportunities that help businesses adapt and grow in a rapidly evolving marketplace.
