Ray J‘s first MMA fight ended on Saturday night the hard way with Supa Hot Fire getting a clean victory in the second round of their amateur bout at Brand Risk 14 in Las Vegas.
The finish arrived under 30 seconds into round two, capping a wildly theatrical match that had commentators confused. DeWayne Stevenson, the comedian known as Supa Hot Fire, spent the first round backpedaling and refusing to engage, throwing zero punches while Ray J charged forward and landed shots. Then, Stevenson flipped a switch in round two, unloading combinations on Ray J before putting him down for the count.
In slow-motion footage of the hit, Ray J’s eyes practically roll in the back of his head as a knot forms on his forehead.
The aftermath got heated. Ray J confronted Stevenson after the final bell, telling him “I thought they had a plan” and complaining that the outcome had cost them money.
The tension fit the emotional temperature Ray J had been carrying into the event. On Friday (May 22), the day before the fight, a fan asked him about rumors concerning his health after the singer alleged he only had months to live. “You want to see me die, bro? That’s why I’m putting it all in the ring. If this n***a can really do it, he’ll kill me in the ring. I’m dying for mine, n***a.”
Ahead of the fight, Ray J and Stevenson nearly came to blows at a press conference after the latter wore a shirt featuring Ray J’s ex-girlfriend (and infamous sex tape partner) Kim Kardashian and teased him repeatedly. At the time, Ray J seemed confident he could get a win over on Stevenson. We can see now, that was a lie.
