Around the C. T. Bauer College of Business, entrepreneurship and finance senior Valeria Serenil is known for a committed work ethic and welcoming attitude.
Her entrepreneurial spirit and go-getter ambition are now on display across the country as she was named in Poets&Quants 100 Best & Brightest Undergraduate Business Majors of 2026 list.
During her time as an undergraduate student, Serenil served as the co-founder and co-owner of Aztec Contractors. On campus, she became a Bauer Ambassador and a leader in the No. 1 ranked Wolff Center for Entrepreneurship. She said her drive to be involved and take action is a lifelong pursuit.
“I would describe myself as very energetic and positive,” Serenil said. “Growing up, I always tried many different activities, from soccer to painting. Those activities allowed me to express myself, and I try to carry that energy into my professional career as well.”
In business settings, Serenil said she stays true to that optimistic aura while incorporating a goal-oriented mindset. She credits the Wolff Center for teaching her how to blend personal values and professional ambitions.
“I envision a world where women fearlessly lead and turn ambition into action,” she said. “That is my life’s vision statement. Everything else, whether professional or personal, aligns with that vision.”
Serenil encourages new business students looking to make an impact to join organizations early in their college careers.
“It’s been a steady progression of leveling up, meeting new people and getting involved with the college,” she said. “I feel the only way you can be successful and take advantage of all the opportunities is getting involved.”
