Juan Corpus has returned to New North Inc. as vice president of strategic initiatives, the regional economic development organization announced in a press release Wednesday. He restarted with the organization on May 4.
In the role, Corpus will oversee enterprise-level strategic priorities aimed at advancing regional competitiveness, lead special projects, strengthen investor strategy, and support President and CEO Patti Habeck in shaping the organization’s direction.
“We are excited to welcome Juan back to New North,” Habeck said in a statement. “His executive experience at a statewide level will be a great asset in identifying and developing pathways for emerging opportunities, including cluster development, innovation and infrastructure.”
For the past year, Corpus served as executive director of the Wisconsin Latino Chamber of Commerce, where he led the organization’s strategy, operations and advocacy in support of Latino-owned businesses. During his tenure, he secured approval of a Small Business Administration appropriation to acquire and expand the chamber’s headquarters and oversaw the delivery of 38 workshops and 1,646 hours of technical assistance to Latino entrepreneurs.
Corpus previously worked at New North as vice president of diversity, equity and inclusion from February 2023 to June 2025. In that position, he led the organization’s DEI initiatives, including collaboration with six statewide minority chambers of commerce to develop the Diversity Digital Hub and the launch of a microgrant fund that supported 20 minority-led nonprofits in the New North region.
“Through my work with the Wisconsin Latino Chamber of Commerce and prior time at New North, I have seen firsthand the real impact community-based initiatives can have,” Corpus said in a statement. “I look forward to working with Patti and other members of the New North team to advance cross-sector programs through collaborative strategies that extend across the region.”
Before his first stint at New North, Corpus spent nearly 25 years at health insurance company Humana in progressively senior roles, leading more than 50 operational improvement initiatives across areas including customer service, claims cost management and regulatory implementation.
Corpus holds a bachelor’s degree in public administration from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay and served on the UWGB Alumni Advisory Board from 2020 to 2025. He co-founded the Latino Professionals Association of Northeast Wisconsin and has served on the boards of the Greater Green Bay Community Foundation and Casa ALBA Melanie.
New North Inc. is a nonprofit regional economic development corporation serving the 18 counties of Northeast Wisconsin.
