SALZBURG, AUSTRIA (June 11, 2026) – During the ongoing 2026 International Bobsleigh & Skeleton Federation (IBSF) Congress, USA Bobsled/Skeleton (USABS) is proud to celebrate the election of longtime coach and leader Tuffy Latour to the IBSF Executive Committee as Vice President of Sport.
Latour has dedicated more than three decades to the growth and success of bobsled and skeleton in the United States. His 33-year involvement with USABS began as an athlete and has continued through an accomplished coaching career, helping develop generations of Team USA athletes on the world stage.
“I am honored to serve as IBSF Vice President of Sport. Together, we have a tremendous opportunity to continue growing bobsled and skeleton globally while ensuring athletes remain at the center of everything we do. Thank you to the IBSF membership for your confidence and support. I am excited to work alongside our athletes, coaches, and federations,” shared Latour about his nomination.
In his new role, Latour will work alongside representatives from member nations around the world to help guide the future of bobsled and skeleton. As part of the IBSF Executive Committee, he will contribute to key decisions affecting the development, governance, and long-term growth of sliding sports internationally.
“Tuffy has dedicated much of his life to the sports of bobsled and skeleton, serving in a variety of roles at both the national and international levels. His passion for the sports, commitment to athletes, and understanding of the opportunities facing member nations make him exceptionally well qualified for this position. With his deep and longstanding commitment to bobsled and skeleton, I am confident Tuffy will be a strong asset to IBSF leadership,” Randy Aliment, USABS Board of Directors Chair, shared.
Latour’s election marks an important milestone for both USABS and Team USA. As the organization continues its efforts to expand awareness of bobsled and skeleton, strengthen athlete recruitment, and build momentum toward the 2034 Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City, his voice and leadership within the IBSF will play a valuable role in shaping the future of the sports.
