Former NFL pass rusher Bryce Huff spent time with three franchises during his six-year career, which gives him a unique vantage point to assess the legacies of two of the sport’s most storied organizations.

Now that he’s retired from the league, Huff reflected on whether the San Francisco 49ers or the Philadelphia Eagles made the bigger cultural impact on the NFL. While Huff began his career with the New York Jets, they weren’t part of the debate.

Huff settled on San Francisco after discussing how many superstars played for the 49ers and the fan culture of each franchise.

“[The 49ers] have a die-hard fanbase, full supporters. I think that goes a long way,” Huff said on the Caps Off Podcast. “Like, just their fan culture is deep, but at the same time, Philly has a crazy fan base, too. And I feel like their culture is insane, so I would say Niners, but I think it is pretty close.”

Huff retired in 2025 at age 27 after just one year with the 49ers. He co-founded Naberstone, a company whose mission is to build infrastructure to prevent and combat lithium-ion battery fires.

During his time in the NFL, Huff recorded 24 sacks across six seasons, four with the 49ers in 2025.
