Andrew Wiggins is a part of the Miami Heat’s plans after all.
The forward will sign a three-year, $64 million contract with Miami that includes a player option in the third season, per ESPN’s Shams Charania.
As part of the agreement, Wigggin picked up his $30.2 million player option for the 2026-27 season, meaning the remaining $34 million will be paid out in the final two years of the contract.
The Heat have undergone massive roster turnover after trading plenty of assets to acquire Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo.
With that comes a salary cap crunch that many thought Wiggins could be a casualty of, but it appears he will remain in Miami for the foreseeable future.
Wiggins averaged 15.4 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game with the Heat last season while shooting 47.5%.
He joined Miami in 2025 as part of a five-team trade that sent Jimmy Butler to the Warriors. He had previously spent a little over five seasons with Golden State and 6.5 seasons with the Timberwolves.
The former No. 1 overall pick from Kansas has averaged 18.2 points per game, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.3 assists in his career since 2014.
The 31-year-old will be a starter for the Heat on a new-look team after they traded Tyler Herro, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Kel’el Ware, and Kasparas Jakučionis, among other assets, to acquire Antetokounmpo.
“It would not surprise me if it takes a year for them to truly build this roster after this trade,” Brian Windhorst said on ESPN’s “Get Up” after the trade.
The Heat also exercised their $2.30 million team option on Pelle Larsson after the trade.
The guard averaged 11.4 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 3.4 assists in 70 games with Miami last season, shooting 49.6 percent from the field.
The Heat have not re-signed Normal Powell, who became a first-time All-Star and averaged 21.7 points per game last season.
