The San Antonio-based grocery chain is on track to kickstart construction on a $45 million project in the Houston-area community of New Caney, according to project filings registered with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation on Monday, June 29. Encompassing an estimated 124,970 square feet, the project’s scope entails a new storefront alongside a fuel station and a car wash service site, per project documents.
The future store is set to be located at 11940 N. Grand Pkwy. E., New Caney, TX 77357, according to project filings. Under tentative timelines, construction is expected to begin on January 11, 2027 and run through October 27, 2027, documents noted. TDLR filings are preliminary estimates and both cost and timeline figures are subject to change.
It’s not the only large-scale investment the Texas grocer is making.Within its home turf of San Antonio, H-E-B unveiled last month its plans for an approximately $700 million supply chain expansion effort in the Alamo City, bringing with it roughly 720 jobs by 2028 and more than 1,200 full-time positions within the next decade.
The specific scope of that project includes construction of a new bakery, refrigerated warehouse, transportation building as well as other facilities to couple its expanded manufacturing plan.
“These efforts will complement existing operations and support the company’s growing supply chain operations across the region and state,” company officials said in the late May announcement.
