Broncos Country bullish on Nix’s TD count

It appears a healthy number of us believe as Tim Lynch and I did — Bo Nix is going to be lights out in the end zone this season.

With 25 touchdown passes last season and 29 as a rookie, Broncos Country believes a record-breaking year is on tap for No. 10.

In fact, here are a few favorite comments on the poll post:

“44 TDs would be ideal for a couple of reasons. One, it will save his healing ankle by staying in the pocket and not running so much. Two, OC Webb Knows in a division that has Allen, Mahomes and Herbert there will be shootouts. Winning 14-7 is not an option anymore. The D will do an excellent job as usual, however, the O has to take charge. Besides, we need the D for the playoffs. Three, Bo is not getting the accolade he deserves from the NFL taking heads. Throwing 5000 yards and 44 TDs will shut them up quick. Is it September 15 yet?!” – adulane

“I say throws 30 and runs in 7 more.” – orangeNbluethrough&through

“Waddle was a slant master with his college QB (Tua), as they threw deep at Bama due to the rag arm having a window the size of a double car garage to throw into then. In the NFL they both adapted to the short zone and intermediate routes with the slant being a play Waddle was more dangerous than any other Dolphin receiver since Landry played there years ago. Waddle with much more speed can turn a slant into 6.” – HOF DUKE

“I mean, he SHOULD, have his best year so far and that SHOULD translate into more TDs. Hopefully the improved depth at skill positions and a solid OL, will combine with snappier and more natural play-calling to take Bo into a genuine top 10 QB bracket.” – West_Country_JD

“55. To clarify; 7 in the playoffs, 2 in the SB. 46 reg season.” – Tim Lynch

It’s easy to justify either position. Coming back from offseason surgery, Nix’s mobility could be adversely affected (though, there’s no indication that’s going to be the case). And perhaps Davis Webb leans into the run game more than Sean Payton did, so there’s a chance the scheme isn’t set up for 30+ touchdown passes.

On the other hand, Jaylen Waddle and Courtland Sutton are each capable of double-digit touchdown catches, making a 30-TD season not just possible but likely.

In the end, the only reason the touchdown count matters is how it contributes to wins. If Nix throws 23 TDs while the rushing attack scores 30 — and the team wins 14+ games — no one, especially Nix, will care what his final touchdown stat was in 2026.

But if he throws 40+ ? All the better.
