30th Annual Backpack Giveaway Set for July 26 on San Antonio’s East Side
Families preparing for the upcoming school year will have an opportunity to receive free backpacks during the 30th Annual Backpack Giveaway on Sunday, July 26, while supplies last.
The giveaway will take place from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at 3119 Martin Luther King Drive, San Antonio, TX 78220. Organizers encourage families to arrive early, as distribution will end once all backpacks have been handed out.
Students must be present to receive a backpack. The event is limited to elementary and middle school students, with a maximum of four backpacks per family.
For safety, organizers are asking attendees to remain in their vehicles during the distribution process.
The annual event is sponsored by Toya’s Angels and Fernando/Available Bail Bonds and is designed to help local families offset back-to-school costs while ensuring students begin the school year with needed supplies.
Back-to-school giveaways have become an important community tradition across San Antonio as organizations, churches and local businesses work together each summer to support students and families facing rising education expenses.
