The West Chicago Mosquito Abatement District provides mosquito control throughout the community. It treats pools of water and other mosquito breeding areas and maintains drainage channels to help reduce mosquito populations. The district contracts with Clarke Environmental Mosquito Management to perform mosquito abatement services.
Mosquito spraying is not performed on a set schedule. Treatment decisions are based on factors such as mosquito activity, surveillance data, weather conditions, and resident reports. Because these conditions can change quickly, spraying may sometimes be scheduled on the same day. Residents are encouraged to sign up for notifications to stay informed about district-wide mosquito spraying.
Residents can sign up for district-wide mosquito spraying notifications through the Clarke portal, report standing water or excessive mosquito activity, and learn more about the program by visiting clarkeportal.com or calling 1-800-942-2555.
