The 2026 FIFA World Cup has brought a long list of famous faces to the Lone Star State. Among them is one of soccer’s most recognizable stars, whose trip was also filled with a loaded tray piled with brisket, ribs and other Central Texas-style ‘cue.
Ahead of the semifinal match between France and Spain at Dallas Stadium, David Beckham paid a visit to one of the state’s top barbecue joints: Terry Black’s Barbecue.
The former Manchester United and Real Madrid midfielder stopped by the restaurant’s Dallas location at 3025 Main St., according to a social media post shared Monday by the Terry Black’s team.
Embracing the Texas spirit in a cream-colored Stetson cowboy hat and light-wash jeans, Beckham shared several photos from the stop on his Instagram Stories, including shots of himself posing with Terry Black’s staff and showing off a spread that appeared to include brisket, ribs, turkey and smoked sausage. In one photo, he summed up the feast with a simple “WOW” and a fire emoji. His son, Cruz, also joined him for the barbecue stop and posted a few photos of his own.
Beckham wasn’t the only soccer star to get a taste of Terry Black’s Barbecue during the tournament. Hours before sharing photos of his visit, the restaurant posted about Norwegian striker Erling Haaland stopping by for a bite—another pit stop on a memorable Dallas tour that also included buying a taxidermied raccoon holding a bottle of booze.
“From the pit to the pitch. Thanks to Erling Haaland for eating with us, and repping the Terry Black’s shirt. See you again soon,” the post read.
A spokesperson for Terry Black’s declined to provide additional details or photos, saying the restaurant does not comment on individual visits out of respect for its guests’ privacy.
