Frontier Woodworks and The Farmhouse at Spring Hollow will mark their return with a two-day grand reopening
FRANCIS, Utah — One year after a fire destroyed two family-run businesses in Francis, Frontier Woodworks and The Farmhouse at Spring Hollow are reopening their doors.
The businesses will hold a grand reopening Friday and Saturday, July 24 and 25, marking a major step forward for the Hatch family and its employees after a year spent rebuilding.
Frontier Woodworks owner Dusty Hatch has worked in woodworking since he was a senior in high school. The company specializes in custom doors, architectural millwork and high-end carpentry.
TownLift reported that the July 24, 2025, fire destroyed Frontier Woodworks and the neighboring floral and gift business on Spring Hollow Road. Firefighters from South Summit, Park City and Wasatch County responded around 9:30 a.m. and spent about 90 minutes extinguishing the blaze. No injuries were reported.
Dusty Hatch and his wife, Raychel, were on vacation in Idaho when they learned about the fire. Hatch told KSL that his first response was relief after finding out no one had been killed.
Frontier Woodworks continued filling orders during construction, with employees working from a large tent while the new building went up, according to KSL. Production moved more slowly because much of the company’s equipment had been destroyed, but a mild winter made the temporary arrangement more manageable.
Hatch said rebuilding was about more than restoring the physical shop. It was also about protecting the jobs of employees he considers family.
The official cause of the fire was not determined. The Hatches told KSL they were informed that it may have started near a faulty compressor in an area where sawdust had accumulated.
In the days after the fire, community members organized a fundraiser to help replace tools, cover temporary business expenses and support the companies during the recovery. The campaign had raised more than $16,000 within its first day, TownLift reported at the time.
Now, the new shop is ready, and both Frontier Woodworks and The Farmhouse at Spring Hollow are preparing to welcome the community back.
“It should be a good time,” Raychel Hatch told KSL. “We’re excited.”
