Baskonia have reportedly agreed to sign former NBA guard A.J. Lawson.
Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz are preparing to add another backcourt piece ahead of the 2026-27 EuroLeague season.
According to Spanish journalist Chema de Lucas, the Basque club have agreed to a deal with Canadian guard A.J. Lawson.
The 26-year-old stands at 1.98 meters and also holds a Jamaican passport.
He has accumulated 107 NBA appearances across spells with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Dallas Mavericks, and Toronto Raptors.
Lawson arrives after strong G League campaign
Lawson divided the 2025-26 season between the Raptors and their G League affiliate, Raptors 905.
In 24 NBA appearances for Toronto, the athletic guard averaged 4.2 points and 1.8 rebounds in 9.4 minutes per game. He converted 42.2% of his three-point attempts.
Lawson played a much larger role in the G League, recording 20.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.0 steal per game. He shot 46.2% from the field and 37.2% from beyond the arc.
His performances earned him a place on the All-NBA G League Second Team, while Toronto converted his two-way agreement into a standard NBA contract in April.
