The NCAA, along with several athletic conferences, were sued in federal court for agreeing to cap the number of strength and conditioning coaches hired for high-level college football programs.
Plaintiff coach Mark Spellman claims he was denied job opportunities due to rules imposed by the NCAA that limit the number of Division I Football Bowl Subdivision strength and conditioning coaching jobs for each program to no more than five. Spellman filed a proposed antitrust class action Friday in the US District Court for the Northern District of California.
