EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — FC Juárez were thoroughly dominated in a 5-1 loss at home against Pumas UNAM, on July 31.
The stat sheet does not seem as lobsided as the final score would indicate, as Pumas won the time of possession only by 52% to 48% for FC Juárez. Pumas also had 5 shots on goal to FC Juárez’s 3.
However, Pumas seized control of the game early with their first goal coming at minute 17, and at one point were up 3-0 before the end of the first half. Pumas forward Juninho scored a hat trick in the match.
FC Juárez has now lost all three of their matches to open up the 2026 Liga MX Apertura. They currently sit in last place of Liga MX standings with no points and a goal difference of -6.
