Forest Oaks Swim and Racquet Club—a members-only club in Spring—is planning a $9.7 million upgrade, according to a recent filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR). Located at 19023 Joanleigh Dr., crews could break ground this November, lasting through late December 2027.
While details submitted to the TDLR are subject to change, the project calls for demolishing the existing swimming pool, canopies and support buildings to make way for a new outdoor leisure pool, recreation center, equipment building, water slide and water playground totaling 10,586 square feet.
The Harris County Water Control and Improvement District (WCID) 110, the owners of the facility, did not immediately respond to Chron’s request for comment by the time of publication.
The Forest Oaks Swim and Racquet Club serves the Forest Oaks Swim Team Barracudas and the Rivera Tennis Academy. The facility is expected to reopen for swim team practices in April 2028, according to the project website.
“In January 2026, the WCID 110 Board of Directors approved a multi-phase master plan for the renovation and construction of facilities throughout the Forest Oaks Swim and Racquet Club,” the website reads. “The plan includes improvements to the pool, pool house, fitness center, and clubhouse.”
The existing pool and pool house date back to 1988. A new pool will feature eight lap lanes, a splash pad, new diving blocks, eight to nine-foot-tall double-flume water slides, upgraded aeration and heating systems, a new pool entrance, a lifeguard office and other improvements.
Due to the renovation, the pool is expected to be closed for the 2027 summer season. Club officials are discussing reduced membership rates for active members to help offset the temporary loss of the amenity.
Plans also call for a new recreation center with extended shade structures, restrooms, event space, swim team storage, outdoor showers, an audio system, a second-floor viewing deck, a tennis pro office and additional storage.
