Shara Magomedov matched up with Alexander Shlemenko for RAF Moscow debut
On September 5, Shara Magomedov will make his Real American Freestyle debut when the promotion comes to his home country of Russia.
‘Bullet’ will be facing another opponent who has made his name competing in MMA, fellow Russian Alexander Shlemenko.
The 42-year-old has an extensive MMA record at 69-18-1-1, having last competed in ACA in June.
Shlemenko previously held the Bellator middleweight title, winning the belt in 2013 and defending it three times.
He’s previously fought the likes of Tito Ortiz, Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza, and Gegard Mousasi.
As a Master of Sport in hand-to-hand combat, Shlemenko is also predominantly known for his striking, with 36 pro wins by knockout on his record.
Shara Magomedov has competed in several grappling matches to display this skillset
Shara Magomedov’s striking is undoubtedly his strongest skillset, with 12 of his 17 pro MMA wins coming via knockout.
However, ‘Bullet’ has clearly been looking to test his grappling skills in recent times by taking several matchups outside of the UFC.
Magomedov went to a draw with Edson Barboza in a grappling match last March, with his clash with Arman Tsarukyan last December producing the same outcome.
