The Humboldt County Association of Governments announced Rob Holmlund will be its next executive director, effective Aug. 17.
With more than 20 years of planning experience in both the public and private sectors, Holmlund brings extensive expertise in transportation, housing, climate resilience, economic development, and regional planning. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated a collaborative leadership style and a strong commitment to building partnerships that deliver meaningful results for local communities.
“I am honored to join HCAOG as executive director and to work alongside its dedicated staff, member agencies, tribal governments, transit operators, Caltrans, community partners, and residents to deliver meaningful results for Humboldt County,” said Holmlund. “Transportation investment is essential to our region’s ecological health, economic vitality, public safety, resilience, and overall quality of life. I look forward to advancing projects that benefit HCAOG’s member agencies and the communities they serve.”
Leadership group graduates from program
The Redwood Coast Chamber Foundation congratulates the community leaders who graduated from its five-month leadership program, a news release announced.
Leadership Redwood Coast equips participating fellows from Humboldt, Del Norte, and tribal lands with the skills, relationships, and insights they need to effect innovative and equitable change in their work and communities.
“There were beautiful, challenging, and inspiring conversations as this group of 33 navigated through a wide array of content, such as local and regional economic drivers, education, AI, agriculture, healthcare, the arts, housing, and much more,” said Nancy Olson, CEO of the Greater Eureka Chamber, in a prepared statement. “Tackling these complex topics while reflecting on your own leadership is not easy. Yet in the midst of it all, we learned more about what it takes to be a true leader for our shared community.”
This year’s dynamic cohort represents 23 businesses and organizations across the North Coast. The program graduates were honored during a ceremony at College of the Redwoods on July 24.
