Celina ISD received an overall ‘B’ rating from the Texas Education Agency for its student performance in the 2025-26 school year.
The A-F accountability system measures how much students are learning in each grade and whether or not they are ready for the next grade, according to TEA.
While CISD’s overall rating remained steady, its specific accountability score dipped slightly from 87 points in 2024-25 to 85 points in 2025-26, based on TEA data.
By the numbers
Each district’s rating is broken down into three categories:
- Student achievement: STAAR test results, graduation rates and preparation for success after high school
- School progress: student performance over time and compared to other districts with similar levels of economically disadvantaged students
- Closing the gaps: performance among different groups of students
Compared to the 2024-25 school year, CISD’s student achievement score increased slightly from 87 to 88, and its school progress score stayed level at 78.
However, CISD’s closing the gaps score fell from 88 to 79, a nine point drop from 2024-25.
CISD is mostly made up of white, Asian, Hispanic and African American students, according to TEA data.
For 2025-26, 69% of CISD students met or exceeded the standards for their grade level in reading, and 53% met or exceeded grade level standards in math, but performance varied by race and ethnicity, based on TEA data.
There was a 33-point gap between the highest- and lowest-performing groups of students in reading and a 49-point gap between the two groups in math.

About 65% of districts kept the same rating in 2025-26 compared to 2024-25, Community Impact reported.
CISD is among 47% of districts statewide that received a ‘B’ rating for the 2025-26 school year, per TEA data.
“This year’s A-F ratings illustrate the progress Texas public schools are making and acknowledge the hard work of our educators while illuminating areas of needed improvement to ensure that all students have access to a high-quality education,” Education Commissioner Mike Morath said in a statement.
