Dallas-based Stream Realty Partners and its joint venture partner have acquired an entire city block next to the Houston Center office complex downtown with plans to develop a new parking garage.

The joint venture paid an undisclosed amount to purchase Block 95 at 1215 Walker St. — which is bounded by Walker, Rusk, Caroline and San Jacinto streets — for the new parking structure. The property currently is a surface parking lot.

Stream said the garage is expected to have approximately 2,053 parking spaces across 12 levels, a skybridge connection to 1 Houston Center, electric vehicle charging stations and a parking guidance system. There will also be enhanced lighting, upgraded security features, modern finishes and intuitive wayfinding signage.
