The Greater San Antonio Chamber will host its Doing Business in San Antonio (DBSA) Conference & Luncheon presented by HDR Engineering on Tuesday, Sept. 1, to help businesses expand their customer base and compete for new contracts.

Designed for companies of all sizes, the conference helps businesses better understand how to navigate corporate and government procurement processes while building relationships with organizations seeking qualified local vendors and partners. Public and private organizations are expected to spend nearly $25 billion on capital investment projects across the region over the next decade. Doing Business in San Antonio is intended to help ensure local businesses have every opportunity to bid on those projects.

“We want to help our large public and private organizations ‘buy local’ whenever possible,” said Greater San Antonio Chamber President & CEO Jeff Webster. “Doing Business in San Antonio brings together the people, resources and information needed to help businesses grow. It’s your one stop for anyone interested in securing government and corporate contracts.”

The event will kick off with a State of the Economy Luncheon at 11 a.m. at the Marriott Rivercenter. Luis Torres, Senior Business Economist with the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas’ San Antonio Branch, will provide an outlook on the U.S., Texas and San Antonio economies, examining key trends in employment, inflation, growth and other factors shaping the business environment. A panel discussion will follow with remarks from David McGee, CEO, Central Texas Region, Amegy Bank; Shanon Miller, Chief Downtown Officer, City of San Antonio; and Sarah Carabias Rush, President & CEO, greater:SATX.

There will be breakout sessions throughout the afternoon featuring procurement professionals and representatives from leading public and private organizations, including CPS Energy, VIA Metropolitan Transit, University Health, the San Antonio River Authority, UT San Antonio, the City of San Antonio, Bexar County, JCB, San Antonio Water System (SAWS) and others.

Participants will gain practical insights into corporate and government supply chain processes, learn proven strategies for winning contracts, receive guidance on obtaining key business certifications and discover new opportunities to connect with procurement leaders at the local and state levels. Following these sessions, the Greater Chamber will host a reception giving attendees another opportunity to network with the business leaders and procurement professionals representing local public and private organizations in a more casual setting.

“There’s no greater opportunity to connect with decision-makers, gain valuable insights, and learn how to secure contracts to grow your business,” Webster said.

In addition to helping small- and medium-sized businesses pursue new contracts, the conference provides a forum for large companies and public agencies to identify qualified local suppliers, strengthening San Antonio’s business ecosystem and supporting regional economic growth.

Doing Business in San Antonio has become one of the Greater Chamber’s signature events, bringing together entrepreneurs, procurement professionals and community leaders committed to expanding economic opportunity across the region.
