The New York Giants signed tight end Josiah Deguara and wide receiver Kobe Prentice on Wednesday, using two roster spots that opened after the team waived wide receiver Ryan Miller and traded guard Joshua Ezeudu.
Deguara is not new to the building. The 6-foot-2, 240-pound tight end and fullback spent rookie minicamp with the Giants on a tryout basis in May. Green Bay drafted him in the third round (No. 94 overall) in 2020 out of Cincinnati. He spent four seasons with the Packers, then played for the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2024 and the Arizona Cardinals in 2025. San Francisco signed him on July 31 and released him on Monday.
In 77 career games with 12 starts, Deguara has 53 receptions for 471 yards and three touchdowns. His best season came in 2021, when he caught 25 passes for 245 yards and two scores. A torn ACL ended his rookie year after five games.
Prentice, an undrafted rookie, spent three seasons at Alabama before transferring to Baylor for 2025. He finished that year with 26 catches for 380 yards and six touchdowns. Carolina signed him after the draft and waived him in July. New England claimed him off waivers, then released him Monday.
Listed at 5-foot-11 and 190 pounds, Prentice ran in the 4.3s at his pro day and has been viewed as a receiver and return option.
The additions come after guard Joshua Ezeudu was traded, wide receiver Ryan Miller was waived, and wide receiver Calvin Austin III suffered a season-ending torn ACL. Austin has not yet been placed on injured reserve (IR).
