Incarnate Word Academy has a new activities director for the 2026-27 school year.
John Sheridan takes over at Incarnate Word, where he worked previously.
“Athletics have always held a special place in the life of Incarnate Word Academy,” Sheridan said. “Our programs give students the opportunity to compete, build lasting relationships, develop confidence and grow as leaders. Guided by Incarnate Word’s mission and tradition of excellence, we are committed to creating an athletic experience that supports the growth of the whole student and reflects the values of faith, teamwork, sportsmanship and service.”
Sheridan previously spent five years at Incarnate Word Academy as an assistant basketball coach from May 2008 to August 2013.
“That experience gave me a deep appreciation for the dedication of our student-athletes, coaches, families, faculty and supporters,” Sheridan said.
He served as the head basketball coach at Visitation Academy from August 1995 to May 2026, Sheridan taught full time at Parkway North.
“Each of these roles helped shape my approach to education, coaching, leadership and student development,” Sheridan said. “As athletic director, I look forward to supporting our coaches and student-athletes while building upon the proud legacy of Incarnate Word athletics.”
