Terry Black’s Barbecue has announced when it will open the doors to its highly anticipated New Braunfels restaurant, bringing the Texas barbecue brand to the Hill Country city on September 15.
The New Braunfels location will be the company’s eighth restaurant since siblings Christina, Mike and Mark Black founded the barbecue business in 2014.
The arrival adds another major barbecue name to New Braunfels’ growing restaurant scene, with Terry Black’s joining a city that has increasingly become a destination for locals and visitors seeking Texas food and hospitality.
“We’ve had our eye on New Braunfels for a long time,” co-founder Mike Black said in the release. “It’s a city with deep Texas roots, a strong sense of community and a lot of energy behind it.”
The new location will follow the setup Terry Black’s uses at its other restaurants, with the company saying its smokers will be prominently featured so customers can see the barbecue process. The restaurant also will have a two-story covered outdoor deck and a 1,400-square-foot pit house for its barbecue operations, according to the release. Space will also be available for private dining.
The menu will feature Terry Black’s barbecue staples, including brisket, ribs and sausage, along with its selection of sides and desserts. The restaurant also will offer Texas craft beer, wine and other drinks.
Terry Black’s will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, according to the company.
Customers can dine in or use pickup and delivery services. Catering also will be available for groups of up to 20 people.
Terry Black’s began with its original Austin location and has since expanded to other Texas cities, including Dallas, Lockhart, Waco and Fort Worth.
Now, New Braunfels is next.
