STARKVILLE — Mississippi State offensive line coach Phil Loadholt is serving a one-game suspension for the season opener against Louisiana-Monroe on Sept. 5, a program spokesperson confirmed to the Clarion Ledger.
The spokesperson did not say why Loadholt was suspended other than it was issued by the NCAA.“It was a secondary violation, and it’s fully resolved through the standard NCAA procedures and he’ll be back on the sideline next week,” the spokesperson said in a statement to the Clarion Ledger.
Kickoff between the Bulldogs and Warhawks is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. (ESPNU) at Davis Wade Stadium.
Mississippi State does not have a designated assistant offensive line coach. Brandon Fusco and Ben Tawwater are both offensive line analysts, and Mason Miller is an offensive line consultant.
Loadholt is in his second season coaching the offensive line at Mississippi State. He was the Colorado offensive line coach for coach Deion Sanders in 2024 and an analyst at Oklahoma from 2022-23 when Lebby was the offensive coordinator.
Loadholt played seven seasons in the NFL all for the Minnesota Vikings from 2009-15.
Loadholt is in the final year of his contract that pays him $700,000 annually, the second highest among the assistant coaches on Lebby’s staff.
