ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — A wet pattern will impact us through Saturday, with scattered storms expected to bring rain and potential impacts to your Friday and Saturday plans.
Flash Flood Warnings:
Today is a First Alert Weather Day. Scattered storms will continue through 8 p.m., bringing the potential for heavy downpours and gusty winds to parts of north Georgia.
A Flash Flood Warning is in effect for parts of Clayton, DeKalb, & Fulton Counties until 10:30pm. 1-3 inches of rain has already fallen, and we could see an additional 1″ to 2″ tonight.
Portions of Haralson, Carroll, Douglas and Paulding Counties are also under a flash flood warning. Flooding is either already happening or expected shortly.
Saturday: More Rain Expected
Saturday is also a First Alert Weather Day. Scattered rain will impact north Georgia in the morning and early afternoon before conditions begin to improve. It looks much drier by Saturday evening. Highs will be cooler, reaching only the mid 80s.
Plan indoor activities for the morning and early afternoon if possible. If you must be outside, bring an umbrella and check the forecast regularly for timing updates.
Drier Weather Returns Sunday
The good news? Relief is on the way. Starting Sunday, drier weather will move into north Georgia and stick around through the first half of next week. This will be your chance to catch up on outdoor plans and enjoy more pleasant conditions.
