Real Madrid and star goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois are closing in on extension talks and the Belgian goalkeeper could sign a new one-year contract very soon, according to a report published on AS. Courtois’ current deal expires next summer but an agreement seems all but done and the Belgian keeper will stay in the Spanish capital one more year, per that same report.
Courtois is 34 years old and that is the main reason why Real Madrid are offering one-year extensions. However, he is playing at a very high level and the club want to show their trust by securing this new contract before the last third of the 2026-2027 season.
His performance against Inter Milan last week proves that Courtois is still one of the world’s best goalkeepers, so extending his contract makes sense for Real Madrid.
