When does the Nike NBA Standard Issue Collection come out? What are the NBA Specter Edition uniforms?

Nike just launched one of its most significant NBA collections in years. The new NBA Standard Issue Collection introduces a leaguewide look that players will wear during warmups, practices and team travel throughout the 2026-27 season.

Prices for the first release range from $54.99 to $114.99 at Fanatics. The collection covers all 30 NBA teams, although some team and style combinations are expected to arrive shortly after the initial launch. Charlotte Hornets apparel carries Jordan Brand designs.

This is more than another seasonal NBA merchandise release. For the first time, fans can purchase the same complete apparel lineup worn by players throughout the season, establishing a direct connection between the NBA’s official team gear and what supporters can wear themselves.

The initial lineup includes six men’s styles. These include:

Each team’s design features spray paint-inspired graphics while the collection as a whole maintains a unified look across the league. Oversized silhouettes, prominent logos and bold graphics give the apparel a streetwear feel, while more subtle pieces offer an understated way to represent each team.

Nike developed the collection using feedback from more than 400 elite high school basketball players, 100 NBA athletes, all 30 teams and basketball fans around the world. Performance features include lightweight Aero-Fit material, moisture-managing fabrics and Nike Standard Issue Stretch, which incorporates Dri-FIT technology into warm, flexible apparel.

Custom hardware, braided drawcords, woven labels and premium finishes also separate the collection from traditional fan merchandise.

“Basketball is more than a game — it’s a culture and a form of self-expression,” Ross Klein, VP/Creative Director of Nike Basketball said in a recent news release. “This collection celebrates the attitude, creativity and individuality of today’s hoopers, combining bold team identity and modern style so fans can show their connection to the game in their own way.”

When does the Nike NBA Standard Issue Collection come out?

The first Nike NBA Standard Issue release arrived Monday, Sept. 15. A second release is scheduled for Oct. 12 at Nike, Fanatics, the NBA Store, Foot Locker, Dick’s Sporting Goods and other select retailers.

NBA players will begin wearing the apparel during the upcoming season.

What are the NBA Specter Edition uniforms?

Nike will follow the Standard Issue launch with new Specter Edition uniforms for eight of the NBA’s oldest franchises: the Atlanta Hawks, Boston Celtics, Detroit Pistons, Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Lakers, New York Knicks, Philadelphia 76ers and Sacramento Kings.

The uniforms will draw from each franchise’s history, home city and fan culture. Nike plans to release the Specter Edition uniforms and matching apparel later this fall.
